Idun and the Irises

Young Idun lived in a small mountain village. She loved the cool breezes and the rippling streams. But most of all, she loved the wild irises that grew in the meadow.

One day, Idun decided to plant her very own garden and fill it with irises.

Idun walked to the meadow. She was so busy gathering seeds that she didn’t realize she was not alone.

“Hello, girl,” said an old woman. “What are you doing?”

Idun looked at the woman and said, “I am collecting iris seeds to plant in my garden.”

“This meadow is enchanted, and its seeds are magic,” the woman said. “If you nurture them and love them with all of your heart, your dreams will come true.”
