The Bramble Zebra

One day, Hyena and Lion were lying together in a meadow enjoying the sun.

Suddenly, the big cat stood up. “I’m bored,” he said. “Let's go hunt for a zebra.”

Hyena didn’t want to hunt for a zebra. His very best friend was a zebra!

But Lion was the king of the jungle, and Hyena knew that Lion would not change his mind.

Hyena pretended to yawn. “I’m too tired to hunt today, Lion,” he said. “Can we hunt tomorrow instead?”

“I’m tired, too,” Lion said. “We’ll go hunt tomorrow.” Then he curled up under a tree to nap. Soon, Lion began to snore. Hyena rushed to the field where Zebra lived.
