The Eagle and the Iroquois

One bright night, the moon was high in the sky. A mother bear heard a sad cry near her cave.

She peeked outside and saw a baby boy. He was lying under a giant oak tree.

The mother bear picked up the child. She gently carried him into her cave.

Summer became fall, and fall became winter.

The mother bear cared for the baby. She fed him and kept him warm. She loved him like one of her own cubs.

Spring came, and the boy and his cub brothers tumbled from the cave. They chased frogs by the pond. They rolled in the grass.

Mother bear watched them play. She was happy.
