The Ice Age

Do you know that the earth is more than 4 billion years old?

Wow! The planet we live on is old.

Today, we will take a time machine back to the Ice Age. The Ice Age began more than twenty thousand years ago! That is a big number: 20,000.

Hop on the time machine with me. Let’s go!

Look outside the time machine. You will see what the earth was like during the Ice Age!

The land was very bare. There were no flowers or grass. There were some trees and bushes, but not many. The land looked much different than it does today.

During the Ice Age, the earth had lots and lots of ice on it.

The large sheets of ice that covered the earth are called glaciers. A glacier is a large, slow-moving river of ice.
